by Camaron J. Thomas, Ph.D.

Taking a fresh look at the causes of conflict and the keys to getting along, this book suggests that resolving differences is more than finding common ground or uncovering interests. It's about dealing with stuck perceptions and feelings, assumptions that are locked in place, mental ruts, and reactive behavior. Seeing conflict as a lesson in awareness, you will learn a practical approach that applies to any setting: with partners, co-parents, families, at work, and in social groups. This book will show you how dealing with differences can make you a better person: how to decrease the number and intensity of negative conflict situations you encounter; and how to find a higher plane where you can talk with anyone. People Skills for Tough Times asks a basic question: what can we do—other than argue—when people disagree with us? The answer may change your life.
